Reducing Subprime Foreclosures and Improving Consumer Financial Services in North Carolina

Research funded by North Carolina Commissioner of Banks

Researchers track monthly foreclosure starts by county in the center’s home state of North Carolina.

Project Overview

Center researchers tracked monthly foreclosure starts by county in the center’s home state of North Carolina on behalf of the State Home Foreclosure Prevention Project, a partnership led by the N.C. Commissioner of Banks to reduce subprime foreclosures.

The project yielded a portfolio of interactive maps displaying housing and mortgage lending data for each North Carolina county.

That information is now publicly available through a website, North Carolina Foreclosure Data, created and maintained by graduate research assistant Kevin A. Park.
