Access to a quality education is one of the most fundamental assets contributing to upward mobility.

The center’s research in this area focuses broadly on:

  • Providing families and students with the financial knowledge and means to attend college.
  • Examining the potential of incentivized child/college savings accounts at scale.
  • Examining student loan debt and its relationship to the broader economic landscape.
  • Assessing the impact of education financing on access to educational opportunity and economic inequality.

The UNC Center for Community Capital conducts research and policy analysis on ways to make financial services work better for more people and communities.
