Webinar Description

The Center for Financial Security hosts a free webinar about emergency savings to  coincide with the release of a new book, A Fragile Balance: Emergency Savings and Liquid Resources for Low-Income Consumers.

The webinar features four presenters:

  • J. Michael Collins, the Center for Financial Security Faculty director and editor of A Fragile Balance, introduces the book and topic of emergency savings.
  • Jessica Dorrance, senior project manager at the UNC Center for Community Capital and co-author of the chapter, “Building Emergency Savings Through Impulse Savings,” presents on the subject.
  • Ezra Levin, associate director of government affairs at the Corporation for Enterprise Development,  speaks on his chapter, “Upside Down: The Failure of Federal Tax Policies to Support Emergency Savings.”
  • Ingrid Holguin, savings program director at Opportunity Fund, speaks on her chapter, “Start2Save: Helping Working Families Meet Unexpected Expenses and Opportunities.”To learn more about the book, visit emergencysavings.org/book.
